*Brethren High School/Middle SchoolKND ElementaryMonday, May 7th, 2018 – KND Celebrating Differences Day Dunk Tank Friday, May 11th from 11-12:30- $1 for 3 chances with Elementary Mr. Anderson, Mr. Belinsky, Mr. Wojo and MS/HS Mr. Knoll, Mrs.Schmidt, Mr. Veith and special guest staff- Proceeds benefit KND Peer to Peer Support ProgramSPORTS : – Thanks to everyone who helped at the Track Meet on Friday. It was greatly appreciated. – Great job to the track team on Friday at the Bobcat Invite! On the boys side, Logan Tighe took first in high jump with a jump of 5-10, Noah Kemler took 6th in discus with a throw of 109 feet 6 inches and tied for 6th in shot put with a throw of 36-2.5, and Nick Kemler took 3rd in the 110 hurdles and 6th in the 800. On the girls side, Keisha Picklesimer came in 4th in the 100, and Alexis Tracy came in 5th in the mile and 4th in the 2 mile. The Bobcats will be at MCE on Wednesday for the conference championships, good luck!- Girls Track meeting at noon today. – Girls Soccer hosts MCC tonight at 5pm! Come on out and Cheer the girls onto a victory! Go Get Em’ Laker Cats!- Congrats to the baseball team on their win over Manton Saturday, 4-1. In the first inning Gavin led off with a walk followed by Adrian getting hit by a pitch. Gavin was in stealing mode when Jake sent a line shot up the middle. Gavin scored and Adrian made it to third. Manton over-threw first allowing Adrian to steal home. In the third inning, Gavin was walked again, stole 2B and was in scoring position when Jake hit a right center double. In the the 6th inning Hunter hit a crusher to left field to land on 2B. Garrett Fraly came in to pinch run and stole third. On a textbook bunt by Skylar, Garrett crossed the plate. Jake faced 24 batters in 6 innings of work, striking out 9, allowing 2 walks but no hits and no earned runs. In the championship game vs Frankfort, Gavin, Adrianand Tyler saw mound time. Hunter and Adrian went 1/2 at bat and Jake was two for three. The Bobcats lost 6-0. – Baseball hosts Manistee Catholic tonight in our first home conference game. Game starts at 4:30. Softball plays St. Mary’s (b/c MCC does not have a team). Thursday the teams travel to MCE. – Coach Riggs has this year’s baseball hats for sale, $15. – Sports Pictures are May 8th.- Sports physicals at the school on May 16 starting at 3 pm. The cost is $25. The school gets a portion of the money from the hospital. MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL: – If you want your puzzle piece, please take it down today. – NHS will have a meeting this Wednesday for current members. – Seniors who have completed their FAFSA will be having a pizza party at lunch Tuesday.
