SPORTS:
  • CONGRATULATIONS to both the JV and Varsity Lady Bobcats on their victories last night over Bear Lake.  The JV team pulled out a nail biter 34-30 and then the Varsity kept the crowd on the edge of their seats with a 39-35 final.  Last night, Pentwater defeated MCE putting the Bobcats and Cardinals back into a conference tie for first.  The girls travel to MCE next Thursday.  Please make plans to attend.  Your support last night was awesome and you are inspiriation to play even harder!    
  • Tomorrow night's  home game is Varsity ONLY at 6:00 vs MCC. 
  • Tonight is the last Bobcat Fundamentals bball halftime games: Columbia vs White
  • Athletics will be selling Bobcat Attire for this week only.   Mr. Kemler needs to have at least 35 orders to put an order in. You can find a brochure and order form by room 133 or look in the window of the office. 
  • Wednesday night is Parent Night for JV/V Boys Basketball.  Athletics will be selling shirts for $15 the Brethren /Bear Lake boys game on Friday. The money raised will be going to help support our local VFW Hall in Kaleva. 
  • This Friday the boys basketball teams will take on rival Bear Lake.  The team will be benefitting the VFW with shirt sales this week and a Bake Sale at the game.  It's going to be a great game and you can get $2 off your entry into the game if you donate a toiletry item when you pay.  Your Student Council is having a toiletry drive in partnership with the Kaleva Baptist Church to generate items for families in our community.  
HIGH SCHOOL/MIDDLE SCHOOL:
  • NHS meeting today during lunch! 
  • Student Council meeting during lunch on Thursday
  • Tonight the HS Quiz Bowl team travels to Traverse City Central to compete in the first of four Wednesday night competitions.  Opponents are TCC, TC West, Interlochen, Cadillac, Gaylord and GTA.  The team (John, Taylor, Olivia, Jacob, and Heather) will be need to dismiss at 2:50.
  • Tomorrow Brethren will be hosting the WMD High School Quiz Bowl Conference Tourney.  There will be extra people at lunch and in our hallways to please welcome our guests and be courteous.   
  • Attendance Challenge: 8th grade came in 1st for middle school with 93.75% and the seniors came in first for high school with 92.5%! Remember that the national average is 94%, we've got plenty of room to improve!
  • Thank you to the Middle School students who enjoyed a successful event-free dance yesterday.  You were all terrific!  Thank you to Charlee for the awesome tunes! 
  • Mrs. King is holding a pi recitation contest...the student that can recite the most digits of pi by March 14th will win a pizza! The competition will be held at lunch on Pi Day!!  Good Luck!
