All School
Tomorrow night will be the band concert for grades 5 - 12 starting @ 6:30pm.  There will also be a beautiful art display set up for people to view.
 
Hats on for Haley Greene raised another $165.00 on Friday which brought the total to $305.00 to help Haley and her family.  There is also a tub in the show case by the office.  We have a student that is collecting hats and scarfs for Haley.
 
The cornhole tournament has been rescheduled for this Saturday, May 17th, 2:00 pm @ KND Schools.  This is a double elimination tournament.  Groups are as follows:  3rd - 7th grade, 8th - 12th grade and adults.  Student teams are $10.00 per team of 2 players and adults are $20.00 per team.  There will be Cash and Prizes for each group.  All proceeds will go to the 3rd grade trip to Mackinac Island this month.  You MUST pre register by Wednesday, May 14th to Jacqueline Morgan @ 231-510-1799 or jackiemiller84@gmail.com.  There will also be a bake sale!
 
On behalf of the KND Elementary PTO, I would like to thank ALL of the staff, students and community members that participated in the carnival.  Judging by the smiles, the 2014 carnival was a big success again! Mrs. Bradford
 
Thank you to all who volunteered their evening helping at the last MS track meet.  Both boys and girls teams finished second overall.  
    
High School  
Please support PROM BOUTIQUE by returning your borrowed dress or donating a gently used prom dress.  All donations can be dropped off at your high school office....Thank You!
 
Next Monday @ 12:15 there will be a meeting for all 9th - 11th grade boys interested in playing basketball next year.  Summer schedules will be given out at that time.  See Mrs. Wojo if you can't be there!
 
Thank you to everyone who attended the After Prom Party on Saturday!  I hope you all had a great time and made some great memories.  It was a lot of fun!  A big thank you to Marie Cole & Jeff Best, Lee & Tim Krause and Denise Connolly for their help chaperoning.  Couldn't have done it without your help!
 
SENIORS:  There are quite a few of you that have senior fines!  DON'T make me hunt you down.....if you aren't sure about being on my list, then come and ask.  These fines MUST be paid before graduation or I will have your diploma hanging in my office.  Thanks, Miss Peggy!!
 
There will be a volleyball meeting during high school lunch for all interested 9th - 11th grade girls on Thursday, May 15th.  Please leave your 4th period two minutes prior to get your lunch and be in room 136 a.s.a.p
 
Our next volleyball open gym is Sunday, May 18th.  Mark your calendars now to attend!  Annie will be there and we need as many people as possible to step up and commit to improve for the upcoming season.

Seniors:  If you are 18 and looking for a summer/full time job, check out the posting on the "student news" board in the hallway.
 
The Michigan Department of Transportation is offering a Youth Program to be run out of the Manistee County Road Commission Garage @ US 31 and Nine Mile Road for the months of May through late August.  Graduating seniors and students 16 and older interested can apply at the road commission, 8946 Chippewa Hwy., Bear Lake.  You must have at least a 2.5 GPA.
 
More summer help needed...... Shomler Canoes & Kayaks located 4 miles south of the intersection of M-37 & M-55 is looking for individuals to hire.  Must be able to work 30 - 40 hours a week, a clean driving record as well as working weekends/holidays. For more information call 231-862-3475.
 
 
Any student who would still like a yearbook has until tomorrow. Yearbooks will then be ordered and there will be NO extra to purchase.
 
Middle School

Any 8th grade girl interested in cheerleading next year for varsity, please sign up in the office if you haven't done that yet.  Coach Maxey needs to get an accurate account of how many cheerleaders.  Thanks!
 
Congratulations to Megan Wayward who set a new MS 1600 run record last night.  She crossed the line at 5:52/54 breaking the record she set last year by seven seconds.
