ALL SCHOOL:
  • Congratulations to the following high school students who had their artwork selected to represent Brethren High School at Westshore Community College's annual High School Art Competition:  They are John Schaefer in mixed media, Heather VanderBie in Photography, Mary Voorhees in mixed media, Heidi Lewis in mixed Media, Kaylie Danielson in painting, Kylah Fischer in Painting, Caitlyn Wayward in Painting, Isiah Aparicio in sculpture and Laura Bone in photography.
  • Singers age 7 to 18 are invited to pick up a flyer in the office for the Manistee Benzie Area Childrens' Chorus, now in its 12th season!  We sing a variety of music from near and far, movie and musical themes and even in other languages.  Join experienced singers in making music our own ~ It feels good to sing!
SPORTS:
  • Our varsity boys basketball team pulled out an impressive win over Pine River 67 to 63. Good job BOBCATS!!!
  • Congratulations to the Varsity Girls on their 60-20 win over Marion last night.  Also, to the boys on their 67-63 win over Pine River.
  • Tonight is Senior Night for the Lady Bobcats.  Marie, Lindsey, Taytum and Kalin have represented Brethren Basketball since 5th grade, sure would be special if all of you could give them one night!
  • Tonight's game vs. Lake Lelanau St. Mary's should prove to be monumental for the Lady Bobcats.  Taytum Myers is resting on 980 points; just 20 shy of a 1000 milestone.  This achievement has never been accomplished in the history of Brethren Basketball.  Please make an effort to attend tonight's game in support of the Seniors and Taytum's 1000 points!  Let's pack the bleachers for these awesome Cats!
  • Congrats to Stella Estes who placed 3rd in the third round of the Knight's of Columbus Free Throw Shoot.  Way to represent Stella!
  • If there is any one in Bobcat Land that would like to be wild and crazy in the Bobcat Suit tonight?  See Mrs. Riggs if you're interested.
  • 4th/5th grade bball tonight until 5:15.
  • There will be a baseball meeting today at lunch in RTC. We need to discuss a few things going forward. 'Tis the season! Go Bobcats!
  • Fancloth sales will end on Friday February 24th. Need at least 35 orders for me to send in an order.
HIGH SCHOOL/MIDDLE SCHOOL:
  • NAHS meets at lunch today and the sign up for afterschool art is still up.  We have 3 weeks left, please be checking to see if help is needed.
  • NHS members:  Don't forget you need to check in with the 4th hour class you signed up to count.  Please collect and count their money and deliver it to my room.  We need to do this daily so we can keep a running tally of which class is in the lead.
  • European Quartet Meeting this Friday during lunch in Room 136.
  • After School Session for Mrs. Edmondson's students tomorrow after school in Room 136 from 3:15-3:45pm. This session is focusing on Writing.
  • Jostens Leadership Workshop, featuring Mike Smith, has been officially rescheduled for Thursday, May 4th.  The Workshop will take place at Reed City High School.  If you were on the list originally you remain on the invite.
  • Attention 6-12 students!  Don't forget this week is our Pennies for Patients fundraiser!  The 4th hour class that raises the most money will win a pizza party!  Our school-wide goal is to raise $1000.  Please help us to reach this goal by bringing in your spare change or dollar bills.  The proceeds of this fundraiser will go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  The mission of LLS is to find cures and ensure treatment for blood cancer patients.  Please help us support this worthy cause.
  • Seniors there are 8 days left until the deadline for collecting senior pictures is upon us.  To date, ten, yes I said, ten seniors have turned in their senior picture to Mrs. Mobley.  Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of 2017, these pictures are for more than just the yearbook, they are also sent to the newspaper for their spring senior spotlight.  Please make this a priority, others are depending on your cooperation.
