9 Volt Battery Challenge Participation Percentages - As of Monday morning, 4th grade is in the lead with 7%, followed by the 1st and 9th grade with 3%, and the 7th grade with 2%

SPORTS:

  • The cross country team had an AWESOME performance in the middle schoolers' last race and the high schoolers' last tune-up before Regionals! Alexis cut a full minute off of her personal best to come in 8th, Justin Kissling cut 45 seconds off of his to come in 25th for the final medal spot in the boys race (don't believe the News Advocate that it was Ian, that's fake news), and Abby Kissling came in 17th to medal in the Middle School Race. Taylor Cordes fell JUST short of medaling, coming in 26th by 3 tenths of a second, and every middle schooler ran a new personal best.
  • Girls JV and Varsity Basketball practice starts on Nov. 6th.  Make sure all physicals are on file in the office. 
  • Elem. girls' bball practice is after school 
  • Need a couple of people to run clock and help out at the gate on Saturday.  See Mr. Kemler
MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL:
  • Food/Hygiene drive starts today!  Please bring your items to your fifth-hour classes!  
  • The last day for late and make-up work for the first marking period is this Friday, October 27th.
  • There will be a Write Nite in Mrs. Edmondson's Room 136 this Thursday (after school from 3:15-4pm).
  • HS Quiz Bowl: Mandatory meeting today at 12:05 in Riggs's room! 
  • Brethren Bobcats have an Instagram account.  Follow us and check out the happenings around our school.
  • The Alma College rep will be here Monday, Oct 23rd @ 12:30 in the media center. 
  • High School Yearbooks are on sale all this week for the lowest price of the year and this includes up to four FREE ICONS with the purchase of personalization.  The sale ends this Friday, after that you can still purchase your book for $37.50 until December first but you will have to pay for your icons.  All you need is a downpayment of at least $5 to reserve the lowest price of the year and pay it off before the end of the year.

A trumpet was left on the practice field last night after soccer practice. If anyone sees this instrument, please take it to Ms. Richardson in the band room or Mrs. Bradford. Thank you!


SPORTS:

  • Undefeated 6-0 season! Bragging rights for a perfect Middle School football season! Congrats fellas! 
  • There will be a middle school boys basketball meeting today, at lunch, in the RTC room. 
  • ​Girls Volleyball at Mesick tonight.  
  • Last football game tomorrow night here at home vs Atlanta. 
  • JV and Varsity basketball players: There will be a meeting in the RTC room tomorrow during lunch. 
  • The Varsity girls' basketball team is in need of someone to video tape and do stats for the season.  If you need service hours, are a tech guru,  love basketball or just want to help out the team, please see Coach Riggs.

Daylight & Life Savings Time Challenge: Every KND Elementary, Middle, and High school student will bring one new 9 volt battery to be counted at school.  These batteries will then be installed into their own home smoke alarm during the time change weekend. A class participation chart will be frequently updated outside of Mr. Cunningham’s room.


SPORTS:

  • Girls 9-12 grade basketball players: mandatory meeting in Mr. Kemler's room at noon.  Be on time!!! 
  • Best of Luck to our Middle School Football boys!  You 6-8th graders have made us all proud this season.  Get that 6th win tonight fellas!! Go Cats!

Manistee Civic Players will be having open auditions for the Christmas play, "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" October 16th and 17th at Manistee High School  at 6:30 pm. both nights.  For more information, see Ms. Karnisz, room 120, in the afternoons for a flyer.

SPORTS:

  • Congratulations to the Varsity Volleyball team earning 2nd place in Conference!  Long day and great effort! 
  • This Wed. our MS Football travels to Onekama.  They are looking to finish their already 5-0 season with a victory.  Come out and support the Bobcats! 
  • Lil Bobcat ended the Football season with 5 wins and 1 loss! Way to go boys and girls!!
  • Elem: Girls' basketball practice starts tonight after school until 4:30.  Have your rides ready! 
  • Mr. Kemler  looking for High School students who are interested in running clock for elementary and middle school basketball games.

SPORTS:

  • What a volleyball game!  27-25, 21-25, 24-26, and 21-25 were the final set scores and those numbers do reflect the intensity that had us on edge for two hours!  Best of Luck tomorrow Bobcats in your Conference Tournament in Baldwin.  
  • Boys Football travel to Baldwin tonight.  Game time 7:00.
  • Girls basketball (7-12th graders) shoe sizing at lunch in Mr. Kemler's room. Socks on are a MUST!

Mark Sexton is the hero today.  He and Mrs. Riggs are going to start the elem girls bball practices on Monday after school-4:45.  Please tell the girls to wear gym shoes, and shorts.  They have to have a signed permission slip or note.  If they haven't turned one in and show up on Monday with one terrific! It's not too late.  
Fifth grade girls practice is Monday after school!!  Be ready with gym shoes and shorts!

SPORTS:

  • Congratulations to Mariah Pringle!!!  Last night Mariah achieved her 500th Kill and 100th solo block in the Varsity's win over MCE.  (This accomplishment is equivalent to 1000 pts in basketball) .  Her dedicated work ethic and humble sportsmanship makes this milestone even sweeter to enjoy! 
  • The Varsity girls beat MCE in last night's volleyball action; 16-25, 25-14, 25-21, and 25-22.  All of the sets were nail-biters but the Bobcats prevailed to continue their winning streak! The team travels to Manistee tomorrow night and then it's off to Baldwin on Saturday for the Conference Tournament.  Make plans to attend this tournament and support your team as they work for the League Title. 
  • Our Lady Bobcats are representing our school well. They are also working towards All-star Academic Honors. Good job, ladies!!
MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL:
  • "The SEEDS staff would like to thank all of the students in grades 6th through 9th who joined SEEDS for our trip to Suttons Bay where we spent Tuesday afternoon on the schooner Inland Seas learning about Lake Michigan. All of the students who went with us were great ambassadors of our school and left a great impression on the instructors and crew from the Inland Seas Education Association. They had nothing but glowing compliments about all of you and made it clear you were one of the best groups they have worked with all season. Thank you all for being respectful, asking great questions, being fully engaged in the experiments and most of all being great representatives of your school."

Manistee Civic Players will be having open auditions for the Christmas play, "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" October 16th and 17th.  They need children and adults of all ages.  No preparation is needed, you will be asked to read from the script. The play is family oriented and filled with fun! Auditions will be held at Manistee High School  at 6:30 pm. both nights.  If you want any more information, see Ms. Karnisz, room 120, in the afternoons for a flyer.

SPORTS:

  • Tonight is Parent's Night for JV/V Volleyball.  Please fill the stands for this big conference match up against MCE.  Show our Lady Bobcats your fan support.
