SPORTS:
  • Good luck to track tonight in their 2nd conference meet of the season. Come out at 4 and show your support!
  • If you are out and about Saturday, stop by the Varsity Softball tournament at Brethren High School.  While showing your support for our Lady Bobcats, you can also stop by the concession stand and show your support for Bobcat family member, Jessica Harbaugh.  All proceeds from the concession stand will go to help Jessica with her expenses at this difficult time in her life.  
  • Girls soccer was Victorious last night against crossroads with a 5-2 win! Thank you to all that came out and cheered on our team. You are appreciated. Also girls soccer practice will be from 3:30-5. Again practice is from 3:30-5, be sure to coordinate your rides accordingly. -Coach Magee
  • Baseball and softball fundraiser money needs to be turned in today. NO EXCEPTIONS! If you still owe by Wednesday, you will be receiving a bill. Prizes are being held hostages until all money is turned in. If there are any issues, contact Coach MacNeil.
  • Jv and varsity boys basketball players will meet Thursday at lunch for a quick meeting in the RTC room. 
  • Attention all girls ages 10-12 (4th-7th grades)  interested in playing softball this year.  The Brethren Majors team is just a little bit short this year and we need a few more players.  If you are interested in signing up, you can use this link:  http://www.eteamz.com/manistee/  If you have any questions, please ask Mrs. Amstutz for help with registration.  Also, there is still a possibility of still having a team for 13-16 year olds.  Use the same link to register.   
HIGH SCHOOL/MIDDLE SCHOOL:
  • Seniors! Tomorrow will be the trip to the Vogue Theater in the morning 
    to see "Iron Jawed Angels," a movie about the Women's Suffrage movement.  
    Please be sure to give your permission slip to Ms. Bennett. Yes, all seniors WILL attend...except for CTC students. The trip and movie are sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Manistee County. We should return by noon.

Kudos to Ariel Clarke in Mrs. Bradford's class.  She and her grandma came out on Earth Day to clean and rake the trail behind the track. We got it completely raked and even had enough energy to pick up trash around the school.  She is an Earth Day Super Star!

SPORTS:
  • Sports Pictures Tomorrow at 2 pm. Forms will be passed out today. 
  • Yesterday was the Lady Bobcat Basketball banquet.  If you did not attend you must see Coach Riggs today.  All Varsity girls need to report to Coach's room before noon today. 
    Congrats to Taytum and Mariah for earning MVP and Megan for Most Improved.  There were several awards but the grandest was the the WMD CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY!  Congratulations Ladies on a wonderful season!

  • Congratulations to the Quiz Bowl kids!  They won their first match against Peck HS.  In match #2 we fell to Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart (who went on to win the State Title) and in match #3 we lost to Kent City.  You should be extremely proud of this crew.  They represent Brethren with the utmost class and pride!  John, Mary, Jacob, Heather, Charlee, and Taylor awesome work!   On to Nationals in Chicago!

ALL SCHOOL:
"Cinderella" is performing this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Onekama school with  Maci Podbilski, Paige and Meridee Gutowski.  Tickets are available in the office, $5 students and $8 adults.

SPORTS:
  • Our Lady Soccer Team was VICTORIOUS last night with a 5-2 win over Burt Lake! Our girls played a good game, and showed great sportsmanship all the way through! Way to go ladies!!- Coach Magee 
  • Good luck to HS track in their first conference meet at Crossroads. Dismissal will be 1:45 for a 2:00 departure.
  • Baseball will have practice from 3:45-5:45 tonight
  • Baseball and softball fundraiser money is due by tomorrow at the end of the day. Please get the money to Mr. MacNeil ASAP!
  • Spring Athletes, make sure to stay up on your missing work! No one wants to be ineligible because of missing work!
  • Jv and varsity boys basketball meeting is tomorrow at lunch, in the RTC room.

  • The Quiz Bowl team will be in competition on Friday at 11:15 against Peck HS at the State Finals being held at MSU.

  • Today is the last scheduled Edmondson After School Session. We are working on making inferences and context clues. ALL SCHOOL:
The play "Cinderella" will be performed this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Onekama school starring our own Maci Podbilski, Paige and Meridee Gutowski.  Tickets are available in the office, $5 students and $8 adults.

SPORTS:
  • Girls Soccer may not have been victorious according to the scoreboard last night (3-5), but they were as far as effort goes! We played with only 10 girls to their 11 for 50 minutes! The amount of effort and sportsmanship our girls showed made me so proud. Way to represent girls! - Coach Magee
  • Girls soccer will need to be dismissed at 12:50 today to head all the way up to Burt Lake! Let's go Laker Cats!
  • Baseball:  won both games , 10-0 and 12-0.  Softball: lost first and won the second 21-18
  • MS Track First place finishes:  Alexis Tracey - 3200m run  Emily Agster - 400m dash and 200m dash

  • Easter Bunny Gala with egg decoration, cookie decorating, crafts, and prizes will be Saturday April 15th from 10-Noon at the Onekama First Congregational UCC.
